I am interested in how art can reach beyond purely visual and aesthetic dimensions to be transforming, healing, revealing, and spiritually awakening experiences.

Arising from long term meditation practice, my luminous mixed media paintings, drawings, photographs and hand-made books are contemplations exploring the flux of embodied sensations, feelings, thinking and remembering within the luminous space of timeless awareness.

I find embodied experience is multi-layered – in my work multiple layers of art, building and found materials are metaphors exploring this multi-dimensionality. From dense, thick araldite to cold wax, pastel, pencil and gossamer Japanese handmade paper I am always exploring ways of integrating energy and movement with stillness, emptiness and inner light. These textured layers are hacked at and scraped into to reveal more subtle, fine layers beneath into which one is invited.
